Custom pieces for reptiles, amphibians, small pets & other oddballsEnquiries open

Your animal isn't
off-the-shelf.
Their setup doesn't
have to be either.

Tell us who you are building for and what would make their space work better. We create distinctive enclosure backdrops, habitat pieces, soft goods and one-off solutions around the animal, the space and the real-life routine.

You do not need to have every detail worked out.Start with what you know. Photos, rough ideas and “I need something that does this…” are completely welcome.

What we make

Custom where custom
actually makes a difference.

We are not trying to turn every idea into the same product. We start with the outcome: what the animal needs, what the space allows, what needs to be easy to clean or access, and what you want it to feel like.

Start with your idea

The actual oddball category

“I cannot find this anywhere…” is a perfectly good starting point.

Send the idea. If it is within our capability and we can make it responsibly for the intended use, we will work through the options with you.

Pitch the odd idea
A nicer way to order custom

You shouldn't need to be a fabricator to explain what you want.

Tell us what is not working, what you want the animal to be able to do, and what you want the finished piece to feel like. We will ask for the technical details when they matter.

Start with the simple version
💬Talk like a normal personNo workshop terminology required. Photos and plain-English descriptions are welcome.
📏Measurements when they matterIf the exact fit matters, we guide you toward the useful measurements rather than making you guess.

Materials chosen around the brief

The outcome comes first.

We work across a range of materials, textures, finishes, textiles, timber, hardware and fabricated components. The combination depends on the intended use, cleaning needs, fit, environment and the look you are chasing.

Not every material suits every animal or environment. Final material choices and product-specific limitations are confirmed during quoting.

A small business that likes the unusual jobs

You deal with the people actually running the project.

Oddball Animal Works is built around considered custom work. That means listening properly, keeping the details organised and making pieces that feel personal without losing sight of practical care.

We would rather ask one more useful question than pretend every animal, enclosure and household needs the same answer.

🦎Animal-awareThe intended animal and use shape the brief.
🛠️Custom-mindedWe can mix materials and methods when the outcome calls for it.
💬Easy to talk toYou can start with plain language and reference photos.

Frequently asked questions

Not sure what to send? Start anyway.

An enquiry is the start of the conversation, not a test. Give us what you know and we can tell you what is still needed for a proper quote.

Usually replies within 2 business daysAustralia-wide enquiries welcomeoddballanimalworks@gmail.com
What should I include in my first enquiry?

The animal or species, what you would like made, the enclosure or space if relevant, rough dimensions if you have them, your postcode, timing and a couple of clear photos are an excellent start.

What if I do not know the exact measurements yet?

That is fine for the first conversation. Leave uncertain fields blank rather than guessing. We can tell you which measurements matter before a final quote or cut plan.

Can I send inspiration pictures?

Yes. Use them to show the feel, colour, shape or feature you like. Custom handmade work will not be an identical copy of someone else's piece, but references are very useful for understanding direction.

Does submitting an enquiry lock me into anything?

No. An enquiry lets us assess the idea. Scope, price, timing, deposit requirements and any booking are confirmed separately in writing.

Can you ship or can I collect?

Shipping, local delivery, collection and any installation arrangements depend on the size and project. We confirm the practical handover method during quoting.

How do I keep up with my enquiry or project?

Your enquiry confirmation gives you a private link. Once a project is underway, we can also issue a private customer project page for updates, files and approvals.

Secure project enquiry

Start with what you know.

Required questions are kept to the essentials. Uncertain details can be filled in later.

Step 1 of 4

Who are we talking to?

Just the basics so we can reply to the right person.

Step 2 of 4

Tell us about the animal and the idea.

No special terminology needed. Describe the outcome in your own words.

0/500 characters
0/6000 characters · Two or three useful sentences is plenty to get started.
Step 3 of 4

The practical bits — only what you know.

Leave anything uncertain blank. We would rather confirm it later than have you guess.

For fitted enclosure work, internal usable measurements are normally most useful.
Optional. It helps us suggest a realistic scope rather than wasting your time.
A preference only until availability and project timing are confirmed.
Step 4 of 4

Show us anything that helps — then send it through.

Enclosure photos, screenshots, sketches and measurement notes can save a lot of back-and-forth.

Choose photos or reference filesUp to 6 images or documents.
No files selected — that's okay.
